Dr. Tan’s award recognizes his work on revolutionizing nanotechnology in relation to scalable nanofiber membranes and eco-friendly biodegradable packaging. He is a DOST Balik Scientist and the Founding Director of CANMEET, the first nanotechnology research center in Western Visayas and the “Hub for Sustainable Smart Nanomaterials” supported by DOST PCIEERD.
